The game of the week is: Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love
Sakura Wars is best described as a blend of dating sim and turn based
mech battles. I know this may sound strange on paper, but it works. Instead of leveling up, you crew's power is determined
by how motivated they are by your conversations with them. This could lead to crazy huge advantages, or crippling disadvantages.
I'm currently on chapter 4 and I've already clocked in 10 hours. this game boasts nice graphics, considering it is also on
PS2, amazing anime style cutscenes, and a engaging storyline with characters that you grow to love, or hate. Prime Example:
The character on my home page, Cheiron Archer, I hated her until I played Chapter 2 which focused mainly on her. It explained
a lot about why she acts the way she does. Be warned though this game is Looooooong in text bubbles (some voiced), so if you
hate to read this may not be the game for you.
Overall I rate Sakura Wars as 8.5/10
My complaints being some characters voice acting is a bit much, such as Kamaya and Rosita,
and I think the clock gets in the way of exploring all the possiblities before a Battle. If you own a Wii or PS2 and love
anime, you should definitely buy this game. You won't regret it.
